Just in’s Time
In “Rowe’d to Hell” we exposed New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Sergeant, Justin Rowe, for blatantly sexually harassing a civilian subordinate in 2021. (See Receipts below.) Among other things, Sgt. Rowe told a woman working at State Police Headquarters how sexy she was when she was smoking, how he would like to see all of her tattoos, and how he fancied himself a bit of a “Christian Grey” from the erotic Fifty Shades series. None of these remarks were solicited, returned or appreciated.
According to sources close to the investigation, the Department of Personnel sustained the complaint of sexual harassment against Sgt. Rowe and recommended termination. Colonel Noyes and Commissioner Quinn ran interference on Rowe’s behalf. In the end, Justin Rowe reportedly received just a couple of days off for his wildly inappropriate, unprofessional actions.
We also reported in “Rowe’d to Hell” that Litchfield Police Chief Ben Sargent was arrested on December 29, 2022 and charged with the crime of Official Oppression for….wait for it….Sexually harassing a female subordinate! At that time, no charges were filed against Rowe for the very same actions: Sexual Harassment. The only difference is that Ben Sargent was the police chief in a small community. Justin Rowe is a Detective Sergeant in the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit.
Well, guess what just happened yesterday? Former Litchfield Police Chief Ben Sargent was found guilty of misdemeanor Official Oppression in the 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack. That’s right. The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office prosecuted the case and got the conviction.
Representing the State of New Hampshire was Joe Fincham II of the Public Integrity Unit. We here at RobbiLeaks (and likely many of the citizens of the Granite State) are wondering why Attorney Fincham and the Public Integrity Unit do not seem to be pursuing charges against Sergeant Rowe. All he would have to do is take the Receipts from “Rowe’d to Hell,” and then go get the information from the Department of Personnel. It really would be that easy… unless State Police Sergeants who are personally connected to the Colonel and the Commissioner get a pass.
Helpful hint to Joe Fincham: If your unit has the word “Integrity” in its name, you should probably know what it means. We can promise you that prosecuting a local Chief, while giving a State Police Detective Sergeant a pass for the exact same crime doesn’t meet the definition.
Here’s to hoping the NH Attorney General does the right thing…Just-In Time.
